Sam Motamedi is an Iranian-American filmmaker and cinematographer. He holds a dual degree in Political Science & Persian Studies from the University of Maryland and a master's degree from NYU-Tisch's Graduate Film Program. His commercial experience includes work for CNN, ESPN, New York City Ballet, United Way, Vitamin Water, Vogue, and many others. His narrative work behind the camera includes Rashad Frett’s debut feature RICKY, backed by Cary Fukunaga and winner of the Directing Award at Sundance 2025; Joecar Hanna’s DELIVER ME, executive produced by Spike Lee and selected for SXSW 2023; and Alexandre Rockwell’s LUMP, winner of the Special Mention at the 2024 Warsaw International Film Festival.
